On vacation

We got to Myrtle Beach on Saturday. It is soooo hot down here :) We love it! We stopped overnight to break up the long trip and it was so much better. We had a nice roomy room and a good dinner, it made it so much easier to continue with the long ride. We hit a few traffic jams, but we made it. The room is very adequate, the beach is quite nice. Yesterday we had a half a day of thunderstorms and it's storming right now. I don't mind it if it's at night, I just hope it's going to be sunny again in the morning. The beach was a ton of fun this morning, we bought a boogie board and took turns with it.
Last night we had dinner at Carrabbas,

at first I didn't realize that it was that famous place that Sean Hannity always talks about. It was packed! The wait was really long but the food was good! Doesn't it look cool with those trees on the roof?
Tonight we went to Kono, which is a Japanese Steakhouse. That was good too. I would really like to go to one of those Seafood Calabash places, maybe tomorrow.
We drove to downtown Myrtle Beach this afternoon (I guess that's what you'd call it) There is a new boardwalk, which is nice, not too much there really.

I always think it should be more like Virginia Beach, I really liked all the entertainment they had a every corner and that you didn't have to drive around to everything. Oh well....
Gabby misses Karate, so she did a few moves on the beach tonight. It was interrupted by thunder and lightning though.
It's so good to get away, Phil is sleeping so much better, that alone makes it worth it :)
We are making breakfast and lunch in the room, since we have a small kitchen. It's actually quite convenient. The other night I caught this moon shot, I had never seen a moon look like that. I just happened to look from the balcony and there it was
Yesterday I got a few shots of lightening, it's a little blurry, but it was my first try

I actually scrapped too. This one I just did today :)

This one I did in the Hotel room where we stopped on the way down here

and some more...

I am also caught up with my 365 pages, here is the rest of them

that really made me happy! I still have to do last week's, but I will probably wait til we get back home. Okay, everybody, I promise I will stop by your blogs when I get back :)

Slip and Slide and some fun

Well, Gabby had her friend over on Wednesday and I guess they were bored so they walked to the Dollar Store and bought a slip and slide. It really wasn't warm at all that day, more like a long sleeve kind of day and they were out there in the water having a ball. Good for them!

Then on Thursday it was actually hot and they brought it out again. This time Michael joined in on the fun too, ziploc bag taped around his hand.

Nice over exposed picture, Katrina would have a fit! :)
Amazing how much fun kids can have with a 10$ item and some dishwashing liquid. Plus it got them out of the house and into the sunshine! Gabby and I started walking/jogging around the Park too, I really need to get a little more active. Sitting at the computer all the time and only training 2-3 times a week is just not enough to keep the weight off.

Last night we went to our friends' house in Altoona. We met to say the Rosary and then they all played Volleyball and she had snacks and dips and we roasted marshmallows and had yummy drinks. It was a lot of fun. I have some pictures :)
The kids really loved Lucky, their dog, Michael realized he was taller than himself when standing on his hindlegs :)

Nice serve!

My entertainment :) Boy, that stuff is good and they had all different flavors, Blueberry being my favorite!

The kids on the swingset :)

Michael the monkey
This is one of my favorite things in their yard, this little water feature is so pretty and right next to it stands this huge weeping willow to sit under. Gorgeous!

So we had a good time, too much food and not enough sleep. The guys were back today pounding away outside looking for the leek in our pool line. What a mess!

Well, do you want to see some pages? You can always scroll past them if you don't :)
We had this nest of baby birds in our garage in an old breaker box and never knew! Amazing!

Just a corner of our backyard
Gabrielle posing at Hershey
and more Hershey stuff
This was for the Itunes challenge at Designer Digitals. That was my Dad in Italy. We had such a great time on that trip

Well, that's all for now. The weather today is gorgeous, so hopefully we will spend some of the day outside. There is so much to do out there, yuck!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody and Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there !

Vacation!

Yes, we are going!!! Since we never made it to Cancun in the winter, we will head down to the beach toward the end of the month. We will be heading to Myrtle Beach for a week. I just booked a Hotel today and we made sure Phil would have coverage, so we are good to go. Now I have to make sure I can board the birds, have somebody to clean the kitty litter and board the dog. Sometimes having a zoo really is an impediment! I am looking forward to it, never having been down there before. We spent a few days at Virginia Beach a couple of years ago, but this is so much further. WE will stop half way and stay overnight. That will make it more pleasant. 13 hours in the car with the three of them wouldn't be too pleasant...:) I read it was 91 down there today while it was cool and rainy here...can't wait. Our pool still looks the same. Our neighbor was here, put the new motor on but needs a new switch which he was going to get yesterday. Of course we never saw him yesterday or today. I can't stand having to rely on him for anything anymore. He is a nice guy but drives me nuts!!! In the meantime the pool is getting greener and greener...
This past weekend was just a hanging out weekend. we didn't do much of anything, it was actually kind of pleasant. Today was piano and Karate tonight. Oh yeah, I forgot, RAchel is going to be a cantor at Church, for the adult masses. She has done it for the school mass but this is big! She will be leading the whole congregation, I am so proud of her. The choir director met with her last night and went over a few things. She will set her up for July and they'll practice the stuff beforehand. She is nervous but determined.
Yesterday we found a few baby birds in the garage. There was a nest in an old breaker box in there and I never noticed it! They were so adorable! The parents were trying to lure them out into the open and they fluttered and hopped after them, too cute! Actually that was the day before yesterday, because yesterday I found another one. At first I heard nothing but chirping and then later the little dude was sitting on the floor in there. I was afraid somebody was going to hit him so I picked him up and put him out on the wall. He just let me pick him up and was all still. Later he was gone.
I didn't get much done in the way of pages, here are a couple from Hershey

they should be next to each other, it looks better, but it won't work. I did one more page for the Itunes challenge at DD, it will come tomorrow, I really liked this one.

Before I go, one quick link to a friend's blog. She and her daughter blog recipes and they are having this give-away. Check it out here
Okay, time to go watch the movie :)

class trip and more...

another week has come and gone and again I didn't post sooner! Sorry! Let's see if I can do a recap of the week.
Tuesday was the Hershey trip with Gabrielle's 8th grade class. It seemed like all the 8th grades in the State went to that Park that day :) It was fun and the weather was fabulous.

Best of all, Gabby went on the rollercoasters! She was always deathly afraid and I couldn't get her to go on them for anything, but being with her friend did the trick. She even went on the Great Bear, which has 2 loops and dangles. Awesome! We screamed so loud and for so long, our throats were sore for the rest of the day :)
that was the second coaster we went on (taken with my phone), this was pretty simple with only one loop:)

then off to the big guns

don't they look cool? Strolling through the Park we ran into some candy :)

Anyway, it was a great time. I will be making some pages later on, I have so many pictures, but they aren't that interesting. It's funny how hard it is to take pictures in glaring sunshine.

The next day we had a Vet appointment and TG got her stitches out. She is back to normal and can finally play again without the satellite dish around her neck! If only she would have left her stitches alone, she wouldn't have needed it!
Thursday Michael had a dentist appointment, plus Karate every night, Friday was piano and that was the whole week! It seems that we ran somewhere every day.
Saturday I finally got all my pots planted around the pool and cleaned up! I did something different this year, I planted some tomato and pepper plants together with the flowers. I think it looks okay, what do you think?

I have never had black peppers before, I think they are way cool looking :)
Then I found these cone shaped planters and I put some trailing plants in those

The outside is covered with leaves, I don't think they will last too long, but they look so pretty!
Yesterday we went out to eat, wound up at Red Lobster, I told Gabby that was for her graduation. With what you wind up spending there for 5 people it better be :) It was good though, I love seafood!

Ready for some pages? I have been doing some 365 pages, I really need to get caught up with those. While working on those I realized that I messed up with the days at the beginning of May, so I had to fix those first....
So now I am done with May and can move on to June ...
Here is the rest of the pages for the week

This was so funny, Gabby shut her phone on her lip and made it bleed! Only this generation... :)

Rachel drew this dragon free hand on Gabby's leg, isn't she quite the artist?

This was for the AAM challenge at DD, we were supposed to make a page about our best friend and I chose my hubby! It's amazing how many nice things about him I could come up with in a really short time. Who would have thunk....

This guy was making balloon art at our Park last weekend. He was quite good and the kids had a good time, although we had to wait almost an hour for our turn!

Today was just a hang out day. My neighbor was finally here to look at the pool. Our motor was totally shot and we had to replace it, I haven't even been able to start the filter, so the pool is nice and green, gross! He will have to come back tomorrow and finish, he needs a switch. The kids can't wait to get in there. You wait, as soon as the pool is ready to be used, it will be raining again. Last year I think I went in twice!

Well, that's that! We shall see what this week will bring! Have a great one!

Never say Never!

Well, here I am creating my very own blog! I was always very sure I would never get into this blogging "thing", but here I am. I hope you will enjoy finding out a little about my not so interesting life!
