A really sad day

Our DD community lost one of the CT members today and we are all in shock. Bonnie (bjwtville) was such a wonderful lady. I never met her IRL, but through her gallery and through her postings  I feel like I got to know her. She was a gracious lady, who went through a period of sadness and then found love again. She has been really happy this last year and I am so glad for her. Here is a link to her gallery if you want to take a peek. It seems that everything is moving in slow motion at the site today....

On a more cheerful note, DH's secretary got good news today. She had a suspicious lump which turned out to be just calcifications. I am so grateful for that bit of good news on this awful day.

Sammy (the love bird) seems to be doing much better. He actually stepped on my finger today and came downstairs with me. I got my kisses, but he didn't attempt to fly (for which I am grateful, because of the cats) I am so relieved, I can't believe how attached  I am to that little bugger.
Today the sun came out, what a glorious sight. I think it's supposed to warm up a little these next few days, maybe we'll be able to see some grass soon :) The thaw better start out slowly, we won't know where to go with all the water....
I did a couple of pages since the other day

Just an ordinary Sunday story, but I like to keep those ordinary memories

this one is from this fall, we had a cold but really pleasant day and the kids wanted to go to the playground. As you can see, I don't scrap in any particular order, I do it according to how I am feeling that day and what's available in the new items section. Our designers sure keep us busy with all the new stuff they come out with every single week :)
Oh yeah, I got a new lens the other day, the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8. Wow, that thing weighs a ton, you can tell it's really good glass. Great fast focus and cool shots. I am getting a real collection of lenses, but those you pretty much keep forever (until the next great one comes out, that you can't live without, right?)
I stil have to finish one page for Debbie's class, I skipped lesson #11, I really want to do it yet! Then I have to work on a page about Bonnie. Each CT member is going to make one I think and then we will have a book made for her family. Everybody was really fond of her, it's such a loss for the site. It amazes  me how close we all have become....
Well, time to go, I need to check in on all your blogs :)
Please pray for Bonnie and her family!

Oh, Anke, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. My thoughts will be with you all as you work through your sadness.

I'm thrilled that your dh's secretary got good news and that your birdie seems to be recovering well.

Your layouts are wonderful! Love that you showcase the ordinary moments that will be treasured for years to come.

I heard about Bonnie's passing through GSO - I will pray for her family. According to all the beautiful tributes, she must have been a wonderful lady.

Congrats on your new lens - I'm still drooling over that baby myself!

Never say Never!

Well, here I am creating my very own blog! I was always very sure I would never get into this blogging "thing", but here I am. I hope you will enjoy finding out a little about my not so interesting life!
