Baptism

well, not at our house. Our friend's grandson was baptized today and we were invited to a picnic. Turns out when we arrived in Church this morning, that Gabrielle had a retreat to attend right after Mass. We had completely forgotten about it LOL. Fortunately I was able to find a mother who was willing to give her a ride home afterward. Rachel didn't want to come, so it was just Michael and us. There was lots of good food and of course we overdid it again. I felt completely stuffed afterward. We didn't stay too long but I was able to get my best friend to pose for me. She was very reluctant and she asked me to remove 30 pounds via photoshop. I really don't think she needs any improvement, she is gorgeous the way she is. Plus she is the most wonderful person I know (and I mean that sincerely) Look at her, isn't she cute? :)

I love these dark vignettes, they really set her off...

When I got home I took some shots of the tree we have out front. I figure better now before the next rain ruins it all

and there are still some flowers in the front....

Well, these pictures look a lot darker here than in LR, oh well...

I did one page last night, that's it. I was scanning in pictures all afternoon and I was looking at this one in particular, remembering that awkward age, I was just a year or two older than Gabrielle there. Boy, I was so insecure and always fretting about my looks. Now I look at it and think what perfect skin I had and how I wish I could have it now LOL. What am I going to think 10 years from now.... I wish I had what I have today? How scary is that. Time is really a stinker...

Well, that was the extend of my day, it really doesn't feel like I got anything much accomplished, but I am happy with the photos. Now back to the regularly scheduled program and making a page...maybe :)

I think you got a lot done. What is it that you "wanted" to get done? You went to Mass, went to a picnic with friends, got to spend time with your "best friend" and even got a picture of her. Took some beautiful pictures of god's handiwork...sounds great to me!!! LOL

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend, Anke! Your friend is beautiful...I just wish I could see her eyes...they are hidden behind those sunglasses. The photos of your flowers are beautiful as is that layout of you.

For the record, you are beautiful now, too. Embrace the joy in living a full and active life!

Never say Never!

Well, here I am creating my very own blog! I was always very sure I would never get into this blogging "thing", but here I am. I hope you will enjoy finding out a little about my not so interesting life!
