Camp

Yesterday I sent in the reservations for a few days at Camp Zacchaeus. All three kids all at the same time. They never wanted to go before and I didn't push it, but this year I just signed them up without telling them. Last night on the way to Karate I gave them the news and you would have thought I had decided to sell them into slavery! The girls flat out refused to go (not that they have a choice in the matter), it was kind of funny. Michael was okay, some of his classmates are going, so he won't mind. I really think they will enjoy themselves once they get there. It's just the idea of having to do things, when all they want to do is sleep in and lounge around the house. Of course they'll be crying about how bored they are all day long. Oh well, I might just have to carry them there :) It seems that there is a lot of moping around the house lately, the girls are getting to be that age, I am not liking it one bit. I think a summer job or something might be a nice cure for complaints...
The weather around here has not been helpful either, it's raining all the time and when it's not raining, it's freezing. Weren't we supposed to have Spring by now? Yuck!
This morning Phil and I went to Mass at 10, Gabrielle was reading the introduction and was part of a skit for the homily. I must say, I am really impressed! She does a fabulous job reading, clear, concise and loud. The skit was great. All three girls did a nice job, no mikes and I could still hear them in the back. I remember last week the 7th graders, they did a little skit (not acted, just read) in front of the mikes and I could not hear a thing!
We got Gabrielle's paper from HS yesterday, she is signed up for all honors classes, except Math. I am so proud of her!!! Now to keep up the grades, it's going to be tough! She is pretty much determined to do it though and I can see a little bit of competitiveness in her which will aid her on her way! Oh kids!!! The worry has just begun! I am sure all you mothers out there know exactly what I am saying. Group hug!
On a more pleasant side, I got a lot of pages done, my relaxation of the day :)
I had this add from Sears with those large block letters and I really liked the look, so I tried to recreate it here :) I actually did this one last week, but forgot to post it

this is another one I forgot to post. I just got my new photoshop program and the new features are awesome! There were at least 6 power lines on this photo and it took me less than a minute to get them all out! I tried working with this photo before and gave up, because I couldn't do it. Love this new PS5!!!

This was for a the AAM challenge at DD, talking about what home means to you. I really liked thinking about that...

This is my Mother's Day card from Michael, made me cry when I got it. He probably thought I was a little whacky! I hope you can read the journaling...

Last but not least I finished Gabrielle's photos from the tournament. This template is just awesome, I hardly had to do anything to make this page! If you should be curious about any of this stuff, just click on the link to my gallery on the right and you can find all the info there (you are allowed to leave me comments too :))
I hope you all had a great Mother's Day. I got a peck on the cheek from my kids in the morning and that was that! They still expected dinner and whatever... at least I got a dozen roses from Phil the day before. That's why I was so happy to receive that card from Michael, at least somebody.... I must say though that at the end of the day Rachel handed me a card she drew during the day and it was really cute also!

I guess I shouldn't be complaining, they are sweethearts, but they have their moments. Oh well!

Saturday is Karate testing again, all of us have to certify, it's going to be a long day! I am supposed to jump flying side kick over three people for my break. I am just managing to jump over something lying flat on the floor for crying out loud! Old lady here, give me a break! It will be fun, I hope I won't injure somebody!
Okay, that's it for today! Come back soon :)

Oh Anke! It isn't fun making our kids do what we know they should do. Kick and scream they will, but...we still know what they should do!! They soon get over it. Like you said, they will get there and end up loving it! And if they don't, oh well. That is part of life, too. We don't always like everything we have to do. Tell them consider it a life learning experience!!! LOL

Good luck on your testing. Kick over three people. Surely you jest. I am doing good to step over a curb! And jump? Sorry. At this age, both feet never leave the ground at the same time!!

Love all the LO's. Was hoping to say...my favorite is...but kept changing my mind!! LOL So I will just enjoy all of them!

Wow! Your layouts are just fabulous! I love each and every one of them. I am always amazed at how unique each one is. (no typos that I can see, wink, wink)

Good for you for signing the kids up for camp. Despite their protests, I'll just bet they have a grand time! You keep doing what you gotta do as a mom!

And oh my goodness, good luck on your testing. You are truly a braver woman than I!

They are going to have a wonderful time. How long will they be gone?

Fabulous layouts as usual.

Never say Never!

Well, here I am creating my very own blog! I was always very sure I would never get into this blogging "thing", but here I am. I hope you will enjoy finding out a little about my not so interesting life!
