A little slice of heaven

I was thinking that the other day, while floating on the pool. It was so quiet (that is if you can ignore the sound of the pool pump from the little apple house), I could hear the birds chirp, an airplane going by overhead and a dog barking somewhere in the distance. The little ripples in the water kept me moving around and the sun was warming me up after a quick dip to cool off. It couldn't have been more perfect! Seriously, why do I subject myself to vacations? I should just send the family and stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet LOL. Nah, I think I would miss them after a day or so....

The other day we went to a party at a friend's house. It was good to see old friends again, people we haven't seen since the last party, which was a year ago. Sad, I know, and they only live about an hour away. Anyway, I got to see the little fellow who's 1 year photos I am supposed to take in August. He is quite the cutie, wouldn't smile too much, but has the most darling little chubby cheeks :)

Isn't he just too cute? :)

Then yesterday I took Rachel to her friend's house out in the country somewhere, we kept missing the turn-off, hilarious. Of course she used to have directions but who knows what she did with them. My GPS was totally useless, it was trying to send me on the highway. Dang thing! We finally found it and I stayed with her for a couple of hours, so I wouldn't have to go back and forth. Plus she wanted to come to Zumba in the evening. They had a good time and we got to see some cows too :)

Here is a page I did with the cow photos :)

One of the kids caught a dragonfly on his hand..

isn't it cute?

Today  I finished planting the last of the vegetables I bought the other day. The groundhog had eaten my broccoli and kohlrabi plants, the little bugger, so I went and bought some moth balls  and spread them around the perimeter of the fence (over which he just simply climbed I suppose) I just hope that the replacements are going to make it... I have three eggplant plants, I was looking for more, but could not find a single one... what's up with that? Tomatoes and peppers galore, but no eggplants. I guess they are not that popular so they don't grow that many. Let's hope that the tree plants will provide me with a bountiful harvest :)

Tonight we are supposed to go to the neighbor's for fireworks. Party time! We do this every year, he is very gracious about it. He has to go to Ohio to get the good stuff and it's really cool. I don't think I'll attempt photos, since we always sit right underneath and the phone pics are just as nice to tell you the truth.

Oh yeah, I also did a set of pages for the 365 challenge, I finally decided to play catch-up

and this little page about Michael

He is a tough one to grab pictures of...he always turns his head, the little rascal!

Well, gotta go! Have a wonderful 4th!!!

Love y our blog, Anke!! You are always so busy with family. Sounds like the pool was what you needed!! We do that at the clubhouse pool when the kids are all in school, only we are fortunate enough to have the pumps a distance away so you can't hear them. A piece of heaven for sure.

Love your pics and your LO. As always...beautiful!

I didn't know you had a blog Anke! Happy to have found it though :)

Never say Never!

Well, here I am creating my very own blog! I was always very sure I would never get into this blogging "thing", but here I am. I hope you will enjoy finding out a little about my not so interesting life!
