fireworks

We went to the local fireworks sponsored by our mall on July 3rd. We were so lucky, it actually stopped raining and there were a lot of people. This time even Michael came along. It used to be a girls and I tradition. We bring our little folding chairs, some snacks (last year there was a guy selling pizza, that was good). Since I am taking the photography class I brought my tripod and my baby (D40). I looked really good sitting there, but of course I had no clue as to what I was doing. Candice Stringham (who is our teacher) had given some general instructions on the settings. The problem is I couldn't find the dang bulb setting on my shutter. Now I know where it is, but that night I didn't. I am sitting there pressing that button, sometimes the shutter would stay down forever, sometimes just briefly, no idea why. I still managed to get some halfway decent pictures:
Now I know they are not perfect, I have too many squiggly things in there and the trees are blurred, but hey, it's better than last year. Plus my tripod was crooked, I forget to pull the legs out. I can't even believe it! It was over withing 20 minutes and it started raining about 5 minutes after we got home! Talk about lucky

Love the pics of the fireworks! I tried getting some but I don't have a fancy camera like yours! Keep on snapping---you'll get the hang of it.

Your fireworks photos are fantastic!
I envy you guys and your fireworks. They are banned over here (no selling in shops etc) so the only time we see them is at real big events where they have too many lights as well to get shots.

Just so you know, I have been admiring your stuff too! :D

Never say Never!

Well, here I am creating my very own blog! I was always very sure I would never get into this blogging "thing", but here I am. I hope you will enjoy finding out a little about my not so interesting life!
